Module 9 Video

1.I decided to choose the Leonardo Davinci  video because I found reading about him he shows expression in his work. I also choose the power of art video because it sounded like an interesting title.

2. Some key concepts that I have learned is that Leonardo was the first to make a landscape portrait. He says when a painters mind is alive, his hands create the harmony of correct proportions at that moment. Some key concepts in the power of art video is that Michelangelo was known for being a bit of a trouble maker and he used his paintings to try and get away from getting caught.

3.Both Michelangelo and Leonardo Davinci were mention in the text the text explained how Leonardo would take current events and put it into his artwork. Michangelo in the text is relatable in the videos because he brings realistic human body art to a higher level.

4. I found these video to be informative on these two mens backroungd and what caused them to be as big as they are today.

Module 10 Video Review

1. I choose African Art: Legacy of oppression because I was interested to see how oppression effects their form of art.I also choose Chinese art because I have always been fascinated by Chinese artwork.

2.A key concept in the African art video is that central African artist glorified their mothers, and chiefs in their work. They also had magical art objects and the most common one of them were mask.
Chinese artist are known for their bright colors and use of simple things like trees goldfish and dragons.

3.  The readings i the text relate to the videos because in the text it shows how different cultures incorporate art and how their culture effects how it is made.

4. The films gave me a different view on each cultures art and why they were made the way they were.

Module 8 Video Review

1. I choose the measure of all things video because in the first video I  found the Human figure to be widely used in the art world so I wanted to loo more into that.

2.In the video more human than human a key concept I have learned is that when sculptures of the human body is created some features are brought out while others are ignored. So usually sculptures of the body are in some ways unrealistic.
In the measure of all things video Greeks are obsessed with the body, they are widely known for expressing emotion throughout their sculptures.

3. The text talks about the inspiration made behind creating sculptures and how they became popular like the videos.

4. I found the videos to be very informative on how the human body is one of the biggest influences on art,and how that influence changes our perspective of art.

Module 6

1. A. Some key concepts that I learned from the eyes of the sculpture video is that sculptures have 3 phases " A sculpture comes alive in clay, dies in plaster and is reborn in marble." I never knew of how big of a team it takes to successfully create a sculpture.
B. Some key concepts I've learned in the glass and ceramics video is that heat at a certain temperature makes glass malleable without breaking. I've also learned that ceramics can be used for hip prosthesis in the medical world.

2. The text explains the methods he video which included molding, casting, and carving. In chapter 12 a section speaks on glass and how unlike clay glass never changes chemically as it moves from a soft workable state to a hard rigid one.

3. I was interested in both of the videos I found them both to give me an insight look on how sculptures and ceramics are created and the different processes need to turn them into forms of art.

Art Galley Visit

Tara Donovan untitled (Mylar) 2007

James Rosenquist Nomad 1963

Emst Barlach Der Racher (The avenger)1914

Marc Chagall Le Vie paysame ( Peasant life 1925)

Joan Miro Carnaval d Arlequin (Harlequins carnival)

Jacob Lawrence Seams belt 1945

A) Looking at Tara Donavans art structure from all angles was cool to me. Using her techniques to form a bubbles structure that looked like it was coming from the ground was impressive. That illusion showed her artist ability. I also found Jamaes Rosenquist painting quit interesting as it almost reminded me of a collage the way he put in different pictures to form one piece of art.

B) I felt a connection with Emst Barlachs sculpture that seemed to show someone pulling their own weight but doing that seems to be ripping them apart. I found this very relatable  and creative of Emst to think something like this out. I also felt a connection with Mark Chagall painting it looks like someone painting whats in their imagination. It made me think of how my own painting would look if I was to create something like his.

C) I would like to know more about Joan Miro because we share some of he same interest which is batman. I like her painting of Harley quins carnival there are plenty of different aspects and techniques I could see throughout the painting. Another person I would like to know more about is Jacob Lawrence I would like to know what was his inspiration behind what he painted.

Logo

1. While creating my logo I thought of what was important to me and that is creating music. My producer name is Slick Beats so i thought of incorporating that in my logo .

2. While thinking of the design I wanted to make for my logo I thought of something simple but legible that someone can read easily.

3.The most important thing I learned while creating my logo is how adding little more details can make something pop out.

4. From the video I learned how to create something that expresses yourself as a person. Taking something you do and express it through drawing.

Value scale, Color wheel

1.I thought the Value scale and color wheel were both interesting to draw they both gave me an interesting technique on drawing art.

2.I enjoyed making the value scale more because it taught me a technique on how to get the correct shading I would like in a piece of art.

3. The most important discovery to me is finding out how much pressure you need to put into the pencil to get the correct shading.

4. The most important information I learned from the videos is that there are primary colors and there are secondary colors turn into intermediate colors.
